This lockdown due to Covid-19 has given me enough time to explore my reading options. Luckily I got myself a free subscription of three months Kindle Unlimited, on purchase of a brand new Kindle Paperwhite. Well, I just made this purchase a week before the lockdown. Thank God for this. Wondering what I would have done if not for my kindle.
Kindle offers a plethora of free books in its store. Some are really worth your time and some, well, may just be ignored. What actually gets overwhelming is hunting down what is worth the read. It took me a while and after a couple of DNFs( Did Not Finish), I have arrived at my own list of good free books on kindle. Do note this isn’t an exhaustive list, there are many many more. This list includes books free on Kindle Unlimited and a few free books on Kindle.

Much as the writing seemed very ordinary, the story was worth it all. I always love reading World War books and this is one of those kinds. Based on a true story of a forgotten hero, it touches upon a young man’s courage and resilience as he endures the horrors of the war and the Nazis.

A book that comes with its own style of humor yet moves your heart in every incredible way. Here is an entertaining story that reflects what it takes to be a part of modern society and how each one of us struggle to get ourselves out of difficult situations.

I am reading this book aloud to my girls. This is a part of the Amazon Classic Edition series. There are tons of Janette Rallison books on Kindle. This YA book is a delight to read. Clean and funny its a wholesome entertainer.

Yet another book part of Amazon’s classic edition, this timeless tale by Lewis Caroll is a delight to read. It stands as one of the most extravagantly yet absurd works in English. Nevertheless I love to read this again and again.
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens- Free on Kindle
Despite being a fascinating book, the only grouch I had with this book is the fact that it had way too many characters. Yet, they are relatable and memorable. Read it for the fantastic writing of Charles Dickens.

When Kate Pierce-Keller’s grandmother gives her a strange blue medallion and speaks of time travel, sixteen-year-old Kate assumes the old woman is delusional. But it all becomes horrifyingly real when a murder in the past destroys the foundation of Kate’s present-day life. Suddenly, that medallion is the only thing protecting Kate from blinking out of existence.
